I was the person students wait for when they want to talk about their heartbreaks, their worries and their thoughts of suicide. That’s a key part of what we do. We’re there and we keep kids safe. In our board, all of our student support partners were laid off. I won’t be returning to the classroom and there’s no contingency plan for those students. I fear for our kids.
