As a student support worker, I dealt with students who were facing very tough issues including facing homelessness. I was the first person they went to say ‘I don’t have anywhere to be’. Due to funding cuts our board lost all support workers. Teachers are some of the most resourceful people I know, but they can’t do it all by themselves.
